CROWN ROYAL WHISKEY: CANDADIAN WHISKEY AT ITS FINEST
Crown Royal is the king of Canadian whiskey. The original Crown Royal brand was developed to mark a royal visit to Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. In a stroke of marketing genius, a case of Crown Royal was even placed on the train that the royal couple used to travel across the country. Since then, millions of bottles of Crown Royal whiskey have been sold and enjoyed throughout the world. In recent years, the stable of Crown Royal products has grown substantially, each offering a unique experience for the connoisseur. Below is a quick overview of the top 6 Crown Royal products currently in the marketplace.
CROWN ROYAL WHISKEY… The original that started it all
Crown Royal is the original of the Crown Royal brand from 1939, and it is perhaps the best known of all Canadian whiskies. This classic was created from a blend of 50 whiskies and it is created from corn, rye and barley.
CROWN ROYAL LIMITED EDITION WHISKEY.. The smoothest of all
Aged for a greater extent than its original counterpart, Crown Royal Limited Edition is by far my personally favorite. Even many connoisseurs who are not fans of the Crown Royal brand, find the smoothness offered by Crown Royal Limited Edition to be a wonderful the treat. Unfortunately for those outside of Canada, Crown Royal Limited Edition is only sold in that country.
CROWN ROYAL RESERVE/SPECIAL RESERVE… From only the best barrels
Crown Royal Reserve is created from the best barrels of the Crown Royal inventory. These barrels are monitored and aged for a longer period of time than the regular Crown Royal offering.
CROWN ROYAL XR CANADIAN WHISKEY - Extra Rare
Crown Royal XR (Extra Rare) includes whiskey made from a Crown Royal distillery that was once located in Waterloo, Ontario. The Waterloo distillery burned down in 1993, but a number of barrels from the last batch brewed there were preserved and added to this special edition.
CROWN ROYAL BLACK WHISKEY… New and potent
Crown Royal Black is the newest addition to the Crown Royal product line. Crown Royal Black offers a higher alcohol contact than the original Crown Royal brand (and you can really taste the added punch). It is blended at 90 proof.
CROWN ROYAL CASK NO. 16 WHISKY… A hint of cognac
Composed from over 50 aged whiskies, Crown Royal Cask No.16 owes its unique favor to the fact that it is stored in 12 year old oak wood barrels, which provide the whiskey with a distinctive cognac flavor.
